1.1 Creating a listing needs a valid EU VAT number, checked against VIES before payment. No VAT number, no listing.1.2 Your country is shown on your listing, and so is your registered legal name where VIES returns one. Some member states, Germany among them, answer with a verdict and no name.1.3 Raising a listing that is already on the board does not repeat the check. It needs only the URL and the new total, and any business can raise any listing, not only the one that created it. The listing keeps the identity of whoever listed it first. Article 2 · How ranking works How ranking works
2.1 Whole euros. €5 minimum for a new listing, €50,000 maximum per listing.2.2 Bids are permanent. Nothing expires, nothing is refunded.2.3 Paying less than #1 still puts you on the board at whatever rank that amount earns. A completed payment is what claims the rank.2.4 Equal amounts stay in the order they were listed: the older listing ranks higher.2.5 Taking #1 costs at least €5 more than the current top bid. Every other rank costs at least €1 more than the listing holding it.2.6 The form shows the exact minimum for the rank you are taking, and it is the same figure for everyone. The board can move while you are filling it in, so checkout checks again and names the figure before anything is charged.2.7 Raise your listing by entering the same URL again with a higher total. You pay only the difference. Nobody can take your rank by paying that difference.2.8 You buy an amount, not a rank. If someone outbids you while you are paying, you land wherever your amount ranks. Checkout sessions expire after 30 minutes.2.9 When taking #1 would cost more than €50,000, the most a listing may be worth, no new bid can be opened to take it and the board shows no price. One URL identifies one product, or one company profile on a platform that keeps its URLs stable. Accepted at launch:
3.1 A product website3.2 An X @handle3.3 A GitHub repository or organisation3.4 An App Store or Play Store app3.5 A Mastodon or Bluesky handle3.6 A LinkedIn company page Platform links are keyed by their path, so different apps or repos don't share a bid. 4.1 Chat and invite links: Telegram, WhatsApp, Discord, Messenger, Signal and similar.4.2 Sexual or adult content.4.3 Link shorteners. They are replaced by the final URL, or rejected.4.4 Personal profiles outside the platforms above. The board is for companies.4.5 Anything temporary: job posts, events, crowdfunding campaigns, single posts.4.6 Marketplace product pages such as Amazon or Etsy.4.7 Query parameters are stripped, so affiliate, referral and tracking links won't work.4.8 Listings may be removed for abuse without refund. Title and description are taken from your site's meta tags. The icon beside your listing is your own favicon, copied once and served from here. Article 5 · Categories and countries Categories and countries
5.1 You pick one category at first bid. To change it, email support@overbid.eu.5.2 Country comes from VIES and cannot be changed. Article 6 · After you pay After you pay
6.1 Your listing is public immediately. Clicks go to the URL you submitted with ?utm_source=overbid appended. Click counts are public and approximate.6.2 You get one email when your listing is outranked, with a link to raise it. One per listing per hour at most. Unsubscribe in the email.6.3 An invoice with VAT handling is issued by Stripe at checkout. The first listings on the board are the builder's own products, paid at the public rate. Common questions
Do I need an EU VAT number?
To create a listing, yes, and it is checked against VIES before any payment is taken. Raising a listing that is already on the board asks for nothing but the URL and the new total.
Clause 1.1What does taking #1 cost?
€5 more than the current top bid. Every other rank costs €1 more than the listing holding it.
Clause 2.5Can I get a refund if someone outbids me?
No. Bids are permanent, nothing expires and nothing is refunded. Being passed is the mechanic rather than a fault, and you can raise the same listing for the difference.
Clause 2.2What happens if two listings pay the same amount?
The older listing ranks higher. Seniority is stamped at the first paid bid and never moves, so raising a listing keeps the place in the queue it already earned.
Clause 2.4Do I pay the whole amount again when I raise a listing?
No, only the difference. Enter the same URL again with a higher total and you are charged the gap between what the listing holds and what you are raising it to.
Clause 2.7Can I change my category or my country later?
The category is picked at the first bid and changed only by writing to support@overbid.eu. The country comes from VIES and cannot be changed at all.
